Director Jo Lewis

Bio

Jo is a Writer/Director who has a track record for working on beautifully crafted and unusual standout TV and Film projects. She is currently directing documentary OWEN with producer Lee Brazier (YESTERDAY) which is a co-production with Canada and with music composed by SLASH of Guns ‘N’ Roses fame.

She is slated to direct the Sci Fi MERMAID X for Shadowhouse Pictures, produced by Douglas Cox (Host, DASHCAM), which was supported in early development by the BFI Network and the drama ECHOLALIC for Erebus Pictures (Hoard/Bonus Track) Produced by Helen Simmons and Stephanie Aspin which was in development with the BFI.  Jo is attached to feature documentary LADY PUNCH which is being produced by Lee Brazier (YESTERDAY) and Mr B Films.

Jo was writer/director on the documentary #sugarwater which has recently been released on Apple TV and Amazon Prime as well as worldwide on DVD. The Film follows the first ever performance of a Deaf/disabled theatre company (Graeae) at the National Theatre in London and features Rufus Norris (artistic director The National Theatre), Jack Thorne (Harry Potter and the cursed child) and Sir Peter Blake. The film premiered at St Louis Film Festival in the US.

Jo has worked on International Feature Length documentary co-productions for The Discovery Channel and Cream Toronto and her film production work includes films by Mike Leigh, Anthony Minghella, Ridley Scott and Andrea Arnold’s OSCAR winning short film WASP.   Jo is a member of Cinesisters and Directors UK where she was recently selected as an Inspire Mentee (2021).  She is represented by Andrew Mills at Revolution Talent.
